January 2019

A worldwide encounter with the Pope is held every two or three years in a different country. The last World Youth Day took place in Krakow, Poland in 2016. The gathering lasts about one week. During that time, young people come together to build bonds of faith, friendship and unity among people of different continents and cultures. The programme includes catechesis, adoration, Eucharistic celebrations, moments of prayer, cultural festivals and above all, meeting the Pope.

World Youth Day is a great incentive for your Christian life and a chance to experience firsthand the universality of the Church. It is an opportunity to share in the hope of many young people who want to deepen in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and their concern for others. WYD is not only for Catholics and is open to all young people.

The next World Youth Day will take place in Panama in January 2019!
